The Glazed Apple specializes in funtional, handthrown pottery. My name is Nancy Appleton and I have been throwing clay for over 30 years. My range of pieces includes Casseroles, Bowls, Platters, Chip Dip Platters, Garlic Roasters, Tofu Strainers, Toothbrush Holders, Mugs and much more. Having lived in Hawaii for most of my life, my glaze combinations tend to reflect the colors of the islands. The earthy brown patterns reflect the sandy browns of the beaches and the reds of a new lava flow. My blue pattern has the deep blues of the ocean and light blues of the clear skies. The two green patterns reflect the mint green of new growth and the rich greens of the lush forests.All my glazes are food safe and can be used in the oven and microwave. It is best to place the piece into a cool oven and let it heat up slowly with the oven. All pottery is also dishwasher safe.
